Who We Are
Our Schoolroom is a homeschool management service operated by Carrie Meese. You can reach us at carrie@layer3designs.com.
What We Collect
- Account information — your name and email address when you sign up.
- School records — information you enter about your children (names, grades, lesson plans, attendance, grades, transcripts, portfolios, etc.). This data belongs to you.
- Payment information — handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your credit card number.
- Usage data — basic logs of actions taken in the app (e.g. "added a student") to help us improve the service.
How We Use It
We use your data only to provide and improve Our Schoolroom. We do not sell your data, share it with advertisers, or use it for any purpose beyond running this service.
Children's Privacy
Our Schoolroom is designed for parents and homeschool educators. Information about children (names, grades, school records) is entered by and belongs to the parent account holder. We do not knowingly collect data directly from children, and children do not create accounts. If you believe a child has submitted data without parental consent, contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Third-Party Services
- Stripe — processes payments. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- Resend — sends transactional emails (trial reminders, daily digest). Subject to Resend's Privacy Policy.
- Vercel — hosts the application.
- Neon — stores your data in a secure PostgreSQL database.
Data Security
Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Your school records are stored in a private database and are never publicly accessible.
Your Rights
You can export all your data at any time from the Export page in your account. You can also delete your account by contacting us — we will permanently remove all your data within 30 days.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you by email.
